: I was recently hospitalized with B/P of 230/120 which I experienced for 3 days and while in hospital found I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. The doctors think maybe I had high B/P for awhile undetected and the Cardiomyopathy resulted from that. Anyone have any ideas of what could have caused B/P this high? I am normal weight, 55yrs old with healthy diet and lots of exercise. They have ruled out Adrenal tumors. I am on Labetalol 100mg. bid and Cardizem CD 240mg. bid and B/P still fluctuates between 150/100 to 120/76.Would like to know if there are other diagnostic tests I should be having done.
