: : I just delivered my 5th baby boy three weeks ago, with no complications. The next day I had a tubal ligation with a spinal anesthesia. Three days later I developed horrible headaches and my bp went to 202/96. Thinking the headaches were caused by the spinal, my doctor did a blood patch, which relieved some of the headache. Since then, however, my bp is still high (despite meds), my head aches continually, and I've had an abnormal vision field result from an opthalmologist. An MRI was normal, thankfully, but my nerves are wearing thin from the pain and the not knowing what's going on with my eyes. Is there any help out there? My doctor is unable, yet, to put the pieces together for me. Thanks

: I suffer from postpartum high bp as well, and I have not received any answers what so ever. No one seems to want to find the cause, they just want to give me a bunch of pills and tell me this will help. However, it does not! I just covers up the problem. If you do find something out please let me know. I need help with this too! :)

Thankfully, I've received from relief this week (3 1/2 weeks after the delivery) from the headaches and the bp is coming down (although I'm still on Normadyne). I finally feel like I'm getting my life back! (I thought it was important to share that good news!) Anyway, every test on my brain, eyes, blood, etc. has been normal. Based on my feeling better as time passes, I can only hope that these mysterious symptoms are disappearing with time and that eventually my MD will wean me off the bp meds. I have a wonderful MD who is wracking his brain trying to figure out the cause of my bp, and he is relieved that I'm feeling better as time goes on. I hope the same will be true for you. I should also mention that last Sunday my church prayed for me, that Jesus would heal me, and my bp has been going down since. No matter who you are, Jesus cares for you, too. You are valuable and precious to him and he longs to help you. I hope you have a breakthrough soon :)
