: Has anyone experienced redness of the lower legs and swelling after prolonged sitting? I recently returned from a trip where I sat more than usual and every since I returned my legs have been red and swollen. What could be the cause of this? HBP, poor circulation, etc.?

What you describe is relatively common after long periods of sitting especially in planes. Its not necessarily a sign of blood pressure problems, more of venous return - maybe impending varicous veins. To avoid it do exercises while sitting, even if only wiggling toes, rotating ankles, tensing and relaxing calves and thighs, anything just to get the blood moving.
