Hi! I'm a 25 yr old femaie, not overweight, don't smoke, and watch my diet. I have hyptertension. I find it hard to believe and my readings are never consistent (one month: 150/90 next: 140/80 recently: 150/100). I am not on medication and don't want to be. I would consider myself to be a high anxiety person but why does that affect my bp?
I was at the doctors office 2 weeks ago(unrelated reason)when I came across an article in (I believe)in the October Health magazine issue. The article was talking about the affects of anxiety and hpb and the connection. Did you know that about 90-95% of hypertension patients have no explanation from their doctor's as to why they have hypertension?
To get on why my story, I was very interested in this article and the doctor they received the information from. I had heard lots about him, Dr Samuel Mann (Cornell Medical Center, NY). He's a specialist in hypertension and recently wrote the book "Healing Hypertension". I purchased it 3 days ago and cannot put it down! It's excellent and has good information about the who, what, when, where, & why's of hypertension. It must be extremely popular now because when I bought it I had to call 6 Barnes&Noble stores and 4 Border's books until I found one! They all carry them but don't have any left on the shelf.
Please email me with your thoughts and comments. I am desperate to find support with others with hypertension. It's hard to find that when your 25 years old! If you get the chance to get this book or any other book please let me know. My email is: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
