I AM A 41 YR OLD MALE AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD A BP OF 120/80. A FEW DAYS BACK IT CAME TO 140/100 AND I WENT TO SEE A DR WHO CHECKED ME UP AND SAID THAT IT IS RELATED TO THE NECK AND NOT HYPERTENSION.HE GAVE ME SOME ANTI INFLAMATORY TABS AND MY BP FOR THE NEXT THREE DAYS WAS AROUND 130/85.ON THE FOURTH DAY AFTER THE MEDICATION WAS STOPPED AND I MISSED MY APPOINTMENT WITH THE DR MY BP IN THE AFTERNOON WAS 170/120. I MONITORED IT FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR AND I GOT READINGS VARYING BETWEEN 170/120 TO 140/90. AFTER A REST OF 2 HRS IT CAME DOWN TO 140/90 AND WAS LIKE THAT TILL THE NEXT DAY IN THE AFTERNOON WHEN A REPEAT PERFORMANCE TOOK PLACE.(READINGS OVER 1 HR OF 170/120,150/100,140/100,AGAIN 170/120 AND FINALLY 140/90.
THE DR IN THE EVENING TOOK A NECK X-RAY AND SAID THAT THERE ARE SOME CHANGES ALONG WITH THE CURVATURE OF THE NECK BEING SLIGHTLY LESS.HE INSISTED MY BP FLUCTUATION WAS DUE TO THE NECK.HE PUT ME ON FURTHER ANTI INFLAMMATORIES FOR 5 DAYS AND SAID THEREAFTER HE WILL PUT ME ON SOME EXCERCISES FOR THE NECK.MY BP AFTER THE MEDICATION IS 130/80 TO 140/90.
I HAVE A TENDENCY TOWARDS HIGH CHOLESTROL-200 AND HIGH TRIGLYCERIDES ALSO.MY HEART RISK FACTOR BASED ON THE CHOLESTROL RATIOS IS AROUND 4.5
I AM NOT VERY CONFIDENT REGARDING THIS NECK THING THOUGH THE MEDICATION HAS SEEMINGLY HELPED.I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY ADVISE REGARDING THIS MATTER.
