I think the first thing is don't stress out about it. Keep an eye on it and see how it goes. I have my own monitor - I find it more reliable than one measurement in isolation in a doctors surgery which is a stressful situation anyway. Maybe there is a drugstore that will measure it for you??? Or if you belong to a gym, often they will. I do my own 2-3 times a day.

Try to keep you weight to a reasonable level, get fit and don't eat heaps of salt. And relax!
