Turning red after exercise is very normal. Everyone in my step class turns red after an hour of high impact (even the teacher). I think its a sign of good circulation not bad.

My blood pressure abnormalities started when I was pregnant 13 years ago, and since then I've had short episodes of high BP. It goes up and down, but for the most part is under 140/90, but I monitor myself frequently and if it stays up I see a doctor. I would buy myself a blood pressure kit and learn how to use it properly. It took my body a good year to get to a normal BP rate after the pregnancy (all went well by the way), all the while seeing a doctor and monitoring without any medication or side effects. I was concerned about my optic nerve and eyes and see the eye doctor yearly--they seem to be OK too. I hope this encourages you that your BP will probably go down, but you may have to watch it more carefully now.
