Just want to start out by saying what a help these message boards have been. My mother is battling with high blood pressure right now, and it has been quite concerning. She is 42 yrs old and slightly overweight. Her bp varies quite a bit during the day. I realize through reading these messages, that this is somewhat normal, but just how high should it go, even in the most stressful situations before it can cause a stroke? I guess that number varies person to person. I have also read alot concerning the use of anxiety related medicines to help reduce high blood pressure...has this worked well with many people? My mother has also been diagnosed with fibromayalgia(sp?) so I wonder if her pain could also induce her hbp. She is currently taking Zestril 10 mg daily, anyone have good/bad experience with this drug? I also know that a decrease in salt can help, which we have been attempting to do. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I know it is so difficult to try and help with just a few words about a person on a message board, but just reading these tonight have been helpful. Thanks for all your help.
