Charles

First of all call the doctor to just keep him informed. Usually they want 3 consecutive high
readings to be considered hypertensive. I didn't even know dentist took BP. It could have also
been cause you were at the dentist, that may have made it rise.

I would just call the doctor, let him know where you were and what the reading was. More then
likely he will want more then just one reading. That is how my doctor worked anyway.

Just try to relax. The more you worry the higher it will go.

Tammy : Just went to the dentist and my BP was 159/99. He seemed alarmed at this -- but I have never had a high reading before in my life. He suggested I see my doctor ASAP and get monitored.

: Do I need to panic at this point?

: I should I add I recently quit smoking and put on about 20Lbs which I have started to loose. I am also taking Xenadrene to help with the wieght loss. I thinka combination of those factors may be causing the rise.

: Any advice? I am almost scared to talk to a Dr. for fear I will be instantly medicated for something that is probably temporary.
