: I received a call from my HMO's office today--they stated that my tris were 373 and that my liver test was abnormal. I weigh 150 pounds and stand 5'5"--I weigh more now than I did fully pregnant. Over the past year or two I have put on 25 pounds. I eat healthy and exercise--but I do like my beer and have a sweet tooth. About four months ago I started getting numbness, like falling asleep, in both my hands and feet (left and right). Sometime up to 10 times a day. I finally went to the doctor and he said it could be anything from MS to thyroid problems. I am cursed genetically--my mother has high blood pressure, and is a diabetic as well as 8 other things. My Dad is almost as bad. I'm really scared and don't even know what questions I should ask, nor what information I should provide my Doctor during my follow up.
Sorry about your bad news, but hang in there. My hubby's tris were very high a couple of months ago, but with a lot of extra folic acid(green veggies and citris fruits), they came down to normal. U can also buy folic acid pills, at least 400 mg. a day. Hope your dr. visit gives more insite for your problem. Hubby is also a type 2 diabetic with high blood pressure. Since he joined a gym a couple of months ago, he is starting to feel much better. Take care, and keep us posted. Good luck! JJ
