Hubby asked his dr. if he could try going off Lipitor for awhile and try to control cholesterol naturally. he is on 20 mg. since his artery cleaning 5 years ago. Cholesterol is now 149 and his stress test 3 weeks ago was perfect. Dr. said he could try, but thinks it will just go up anyway. When asked if he did have to go back on meds. could he be switched to Zocor, as friends claim less side effects, dr. said doseage would have to be doubled as Zocor is much less potent than Lipitor. If they have to double the doseage to match Lipitor, wouldn't that just cause the same ole side effects?
