: Has anyone used xenical as an adjunct to lowering cholesterol? It appears this drug would help and have no adverse side effects other than bowel problems.
Xenical binds to food in your intestines so your food does not get absorbed. It it mainly used for weight loss. You will need to take Xenical before each meal or before each time you eat. Besides keeping you from absorbing food, it will also keep you from absorbing vitamins and minerals. You will have to suppliment your diet to make up for these losses. A HUGE side effect is that if you eat any fat, your stool will come out as "Bright Red Explosive Diarrhea". You will not be able to contain it and people around you will think you are bleeding. You can learn more about it if you search it's generic name, orlistat.
