: Has anyone used xenical as an adjunct to lowering cholesterol? It appears this drug would help and have no adverse side effects other than bowel problems.

The post you received from LpLittleA is quite true. Diabetics use a drug called Glucophage which does the same thing and has similar side affects, only not quite as bad. These drugs bind to the fats (lipids) and prevent their assimilation. Since some of the nutrients are lipids (Vit E, A, etc.) they are lost. Better a low fat diet high in fibre. Also, the only cooking oil that doesn't raise triglycerides or cholesterol is olive oil (per Mayo Clinic), so knock off the vegoils also. God bless, B.T.
