There may be other factors, like hypothyroidism.
High Cholesterol is a typical low-thyroid symptom that is frequently not properly diagnosed.
Check the Thyroid Board, and about.com/thyroid.

Also, you still need to eat lots of low carb vegetables for needed minerals and vitamins, not just proteins, to be healthy. Just avoid corn and potaoes.
