: Hi Chelsea,
: Yes there is a thing as an overactive immune system. You were diagnosed with Vasculitis. There is a long list of various Vasculitis type Dieases on the internet. I have Wegener,s Granulomatosis which is a vasculitis. Basically what happens is youe immune system acts like a hyper-active child that needs drugs to calm down. Your immune system fights against itself(Fighting infecxtion that is really not there than it shuts itself down leaving you or anyone with this disease open to all kinds of problems.Left in an untreated state you loose all of your defense againsy disease thats why they use immune suppressent drugs to fight the symptoms and other immune suppresent drugs to try to put the vascylitis into remission.
: Hope this helps ,Jim
