: My name is Amber. I am 16 years old. I live in Iowa and I was just diagnosed with polycondritis. My case is very unusual. I am being treated at the University of Iowa city, in Iowa city. My story is long. At first I had ulcers on my voice box. When those healed up, it left scaring tissue which left my airwhole to be the size of an infants. I have had several surgeries in the past 6 months. The polycondritis is not letting my airway heal properly so I have a temperary trach. I have been through so much and I would like to hear from everyone about how they are dealing with it.
