Hello, I have recently been diagnosed with osteomylitis. I am 20 years old and in good health but during the last week of June I was walking out to my car and felt a weakness in my knee, by the time I got home my knee had swollen up so much and became so severly painful I could not walk. Every doctor and orthopaedic surgeon I saw could not understand what it was that was causing the pain because I did not injury myself at all. So I had an MRI that showed a hole on my femur of the right knee, they then found out it was infected and admitted my to the hospital that day and I underwent arthoscopic knee surgery to clean out the infection and remove bone fragments to test for tumors.

The worst part is that they do not know what caused this and are puzzled by why it came on so quickly with no prior injury. So now Iam waiting for results of tests of every disease known to mankind. I am also on antibiotics for 6 weeks.

I have many questions but my main concern is will this reoccur? If any one has advice or words of wisdom please send them my way. Thank you!
