Any foreign object can cause infection.
I wonder if glass can actually be seen with x-ray and if you have any embedded glass, which seems to be what you wonder.
Don't give up, but keep changing doctors til you get what you need, if you have to.
Be very assertive.
There must be infection specialists out there.
Put your trust in Jesus Christ, and keep praying for the answers and healing.
You are worth it!
