Stiffness in hips and lower back

I have been experiencing hip and lower back stiffness for over a month. I am 47. I have had a urinalysis
performed and all the results are negative. I have had my prostate examined and I am on my 6th day of
antibiotics to treat what the doctor described as a 'slightly enflamed' prostate gland. I have not noticed any
real improvement. I lead a fairly active lifestyle and I have for the most part eliminated all intense activity
such as raquetball for the past month. Some other symptoms that I have experienced are 1.numbness in my
feet 2. dizziness 3.some testicular pain(could be prostate problem) - I also checked out negative for colon
cancer.

To make matters more interesting my wife(same age) also is experiencing stiffness in here hip and lower
back and general discomfort in that area.

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing these symptoms? Are there some suggestions
that I should make to my doctor? Thanks for any help that you can come up with.
