Hello my name is Franca and I am an IVF patient. My treatemnts might be a little different from yours now but I can give you a bit of information. In my case, which is pretty complex the first try was unsuccessful. Though, I have met plenty of people that had to try more than once but now they have one or even a couple of babies in their arms. Although I don't know the exact percentages, the treatements do work. Several other patients that are receiving care from my same clinic got pregnant. For percentages check clinics websites like Reproductivepartners.com for example. The cost is high, about $10.000 each try in my case but you might be able to go a cheaper route. The cost decision is very personal therefore I cannot help with that. All I cna tell you is that It isn't rally something I can afford but I want to have a baby so much that I am willing to go throught the sacrifice. My husband and I talk about it constantly to make sure that we don't feel any guilt about this. Good luck and keep thinking positive. And by the way I am almost 36 but very confident. Let me know if in the mean time anything nice happened.

: I am a 34 year old mother of one. My husband and I have been trying to conceive again for one year with no luck. I know this is not a huge amount of time ,but we had a problem conceiving last time too. We didn't want to waste a lot of time so we decided to try fertility treatments. The doc is starting me on Clomid, wants my husband to go for a semenalysis, etc., etc.
: Do these treatments really work- what are the percentages? While we really want to speed up conception and are totally willing to pay for the treatments if they work, we don't want to waste our money if they don't. Is it plausible that if I just listen to my doctor and let him lead me through these treatments that we will discover what the "problem" is and be able to fix it? Or is it more likely that we'll go through all of this expense and get no results? What is the best route (treatment-wise)for a person in my position to go?
