I came across an article explaining clomid. I too, ovulate on my own. Clomid is used for women who don't have reg. periods, or someone like myself who ovulates on my own, but my system needs reving up. Have you had your progesterone level checked? You need to have a prog level taken on day 21,22, or 23. YOu need a level of over 5+, but the docs want to see a level of over 10, to make sure you are ovulating. Get the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Wheschler. My progesterone without meds is 5.9, with clomid it is 18.7. Clomid stimulates the pituatary(sp?) and revs up ovulatory hormones FSH, ESTRADIOL AND PROGESTERONE. Good Luck. Lisa
