: hi i really have a two part questions first some info about me...I usually have to take provera for seven days to bring on my period now i had an hcg shot done prior to my iui and unfortunatly my preg. test was negative heres my question !) How do I know the hcg released the follicle(i asked that question and basiclly the answer I got from the nurse was because it does) but I'm concerned that it didnt work because i dont respond well to medication. second
question when i found out the preg. test was negative I asked my dr. for a script for provera to bring on the period he said no because since i ovulated this cycle ( 1 follicle)my period would come on its own well im still waiting so is it possible that the hcg didnt work if I didnt get my period on my own ??? help lisa
Lisa...They take blood 3-4 days after the procedure and the hormonal levels tell them whether you ovulated or not. I BELIEVE it's the progesterone level...but don't quote me on that!
