I am on my third cycle of Pergonal and IUI. My doctor said he was fairly certain that these treatments would work for me within four treatments because I have been pregnant before. Yet, the percentage of success for each of these cycles is only 15%-25%. He has said that for most people, if the treatment is going to work, it will work in the first four cycles- Why is this true? If I were to roll dice, the odds of my getting a certain number (15%), wouldn't necessarily be likely to occur in the first four rolls. Does anyone know the answer to this? Do your chances actually increase with each treatment? What are the chaces of conception each month for a normal, fertile couple? Thanks!
