: i have polycystic ovaries as well. 2 years ago i went to a fertility specialist and he did an ovarian wedge resection - a laparascopic surgery to try and help me ovulate. i was not ovulating at all prior to the surgery. since the surgery, i have had regular periods (i had no periods before) i have been trying now for 4 months to get pg, unsuccessfully. just wanted to let you know about the surgery that i had, the dr's acted like it wasn't something they did very often.

: : I have polycystic ovaries, I have been on clomid for 6 mon. My question is i apparently have been ovulating , yet im still not concieveing. Would anyone happen to come across the same problem. now im off clomid and just started mediformin. I will be going to a specialist on the 15th. Ive been trying for 5 yrs but just recently with clomid. my tubes are clear and hubby has also been tested and is good . Any ideas or help would be great thanks.

I've known about my PCOS for over two years now. It was a good thing that I was looking out for myself because doctors always told me that my lack of periods was quite common and nothing to worry about. After reading a small article on PCOS I was in shock. I had every symptom. I went to a new Doctor, told her was I thought my problem might be and she was amazed as she looked at the screen while doing and internal sonogram. My ovaries were covered in the black pallips.

We spent two years trying everything. My best advice is to try artificial insemination into the uterous. It isn't really that expensive. You can even have the sperm "washed" so that you'll have a powerful bunch. I was on clomid and glucophage. I did miscarry my first pregnancy but I at least knew I could get pregnant and that was a hugh relief. I also had my tubes checked for blockages, we tried the internal sonograms to see how my eggs were growing and I also had the "shot" to make me ovulate at "x" number of hours. Everything together worked. I have the most beautiful baby girl with her Daddy's blue eyes. My heart goes out to everyone out there still trying to get pregnant. Don't give up. I know the pain in that negative pregnancy test. Educate yourself, lookout for yourself, find good info. on the web and make a copy for your doctor.

Good luck!
