: Laurie, My husband also has low motility, We are doing IUI with clomid, I have had iui and we just did our second cycle, I only had to miss 1/2 a day of work each cycle, the first one I took a whole day because I didi not know what to expect, infertility is covered by FMLA family medical leave act which allows you to take time off from work with out beung penalized, The hard part is getting the Husbands sample to the Drs and hoping theres enough motile sperm to conceive via iui, they say 1 million will do the trick, Good luck! Dont give up on your dream it is definately worth all the ups and downs...

Thanks for the boat of confidence! Glad to hear that if we only need to do AI or IUI, it won't be much time off for either of us. Also, he had a 2nd analyis done this week which turned out much better than the 1st one (we think he had not waited enough time inbetween ejaculations for the 1st test - lab said just under 48 hours would be ok, but apparently not. 2nd test was at 60 hours). Motility came up (before it was 0!) now is at 70%, not bad! He will still see a urologist and also his cardiologist as we found out that one of his med (a calcium channel blocker) may be part of the problem. So, we're much more hopeful!
Thanks again!
