: I have just been told I have a tendancy to PCO and so require no treatment. This is because I have enlarged ovaries on ultrasound but no hormonal imbalance. This is frustrating for me as I do get acne and some excess hair and abdominal pain. I feel much better generally on a low carb diet but my doctor refuses to test my insulin levels or refer me to another specialist. I has taken over my life to a large extent but the doctor makes me feel like a neurotic. I am starting to believe he is right and that I just have to live with it. Any suggestions anyone? GO SEE ANOTHER DOCTOR! This is your body and your life. Your doctor should not deny you your right to put your mind at ease or answer all the questions you have. Get a second opinion from another doctor. Ask your friends or co workers for a recommendation.
