: Can anyone help me out here. I have always been very regular with my periods. Since having my HSG two months ago things have gone a little erratic. The first month I was on time but my period lasted a full seven days (normally 3-4 days) and was extremely heavy (normally 1 heavy day with light spotting on the other days). This month I have started a whole week early. Well not started really, just spotting for a week. If ever I was early I would only be a day or two early. My next gyne appointment is not until October. Do you think I need to bring it forward or is this normal after the HSG? Has anyone else noticed any difference? I think I am panicking for no reason but would like some advice if possible. Thanks to you all. Claire
Hi there! I have been going crazy with the same thing myself. My cycle has always been exactly 34 days.
I am now almost a week late for my period. I had the HSG on 10-9. They told me that my tubes were blocked
but I've heard that this procedures can sometimes unclog the tubes. I would be happy if I were pregnant buy my
biggest fear is an ectopic pregnancy. I'm going to give it a few more days then call my doctor to do a blood test.
Were the results for your tubes and uterus ok? If they were, I probably wouldn't worry about it. Yours periods will
most likely return to normal. It must be very traumatic and disruptive to the lining of the uterus and it bothers me
that the doctors do not discuss this problem at the time of the procedure. They didn't tell me anything about how
this would affect me afterward.
