Hi there, I am also new to PCOS. I have had four children with three pregnancies. It did however take a long time to get pregnant. My Dr. then kept telling me it takes a year or more!! At any rate, I have been going to an endocrinologist who diagnosed me with PCOS. I have been taking Gloucophage and spironlactone for almost one month now. I experienced some nausea, sweating and finally did get my period after about a week. My question is after not having a period for several years, I'm taking these drugs and have had my period last for three weeks now. At first I thought it was just my body getting back in the swing of things, but I recently broke out in hives also. Has anybody experienced a prolonged period or hives? I really don;t want to stop the treatment but my Dr. thinks I should hold off for about a week and see if the hives goes away. thanks, Jill
