What is a biochemical pregnancy? A few years ago, I was late for my period. I did a home pregnancy test, and it was positive. I went and had a test done at the clinic; it was also positive. I scheduled my first OB appointment, but the week before, I started a very heavy period. My doctor said that what probably happened was the fertilized egg was shed in the mentstrual cycle. Since this time, I have been unable to conceive. All fertility work ups have been normal. The hormone tests, HSG, and my husband all came back fine. I have been off and on birth control for almost six years now. I am so heartbroken that I can't have a baby. My husband and I would be such good parents. Like others, I cringe when I see pregnant women and young mothers. I work with abused and neglected children. It is not fair that a woman who would starve or beat a baby to death can have ten, but I, who would care for and love a baby, can't have a single one. Oh, well, I guess I should stop whining. Good luck in trying to get pregnant. Good luck to us all!
