I have had this strange symptom for about 3 years. It started when I took Gravol to help me sleep. I had this loud sound in my head (only when I lie down) like a twang, much like when metal gets hot and makes a cracking sound. I promptly stopped using Gravol to help me sleep, but since still have these symptoms every night when I lie down. I can also hear my pulse in my ears sometimes, it is so loud that it wakes me up. When I shift position on my pillow, the pulse goes away. I have been to a ENT specialist and he says this is caused by by TM joints, but I am not convinced this is the problem. These symptoms are relieved a bit by taking a decongestant at night before I go to bed. Does anyone else have this problem, I would appreciate knowing, I'm not the only one in the world with this strange phenomenon
