I had a cholesteatoma removed when I was 24. At that time they also had to take one of the hearing bones.
6 months later I went in and they made sure they had removed all of the cholesteatoma cells and also put
in a prosthetic hearing bone. My hearing is normal and I have only had a couple of bad ear infections. I hope
