: for about two weeks I have been having these attacks especially when I turn over in bed but only on my left side at night where the whole room seems to be spinning. During the day it isn't too bad, just if I get up too fast or bend over. Sometimes I feel nauseous. I just feel off balance most of the time. Dr. prescribed Antivert but I did not take it. Do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? Hi Susan, I know how scary this is but you described some very classic symptoms of BPPV( benign postional vertigo) with the turning over in bed and bending. It is the most treatable vestibular disorder so I am going to give you some sites, including one that lists docs by state that know more about dizzy disorders called otonuerologists/neurotologists: www.vestibular.org www.tchain.com/otoneurology/disorders/index.html http://itsa.ucsf.edu/~ajo/ANS/ANSmemst.html If I can help email me anytime(pd0110@aol.com). Hope this gets you on your way to non-dizzy days, Take care, Paula
