And to put it lightly it is one of the scariest things I've ever experienced. It's a common symptom accompanied with anxiety attacks, although my experience comes from a sinus infection. The infection was cleared up and so was the derealization (I think that's what they call it). But now I have an ear infection (hence i'm at this message board) and the feeling has returned. HORRIBLE. It's frightening and debilitating. My spelling is actually suffering right now because of it. For a while I to questioned my own sanity. I had an MRI because of it and it just showed a sinus infection, everything else was normal. I would request an MRI if you haven't already had one. YOU'RE NOT GOING INSANE! Trust me! You shouldn't have to live like that, keep going to doctors, you'll find one who knows what they are doing. I now realize what it is and am hoping that it will go away again when this infection clears up.

Now MY question :). What kind of ear infection would be giving me symptoms like this? I'm also very dizzy with movement, nausea, basicly it feels like a violent sinus infection, but w/out the terrible headaches. My ears do not hurt, but they feel clogged and there's a lot of pressure. The doctor took a quick look in my ear (both ears are infected) and said "ear infection". Gave me a decongestant, Augmentin (which i've been on for sinus infections) and sent me on my merry way. That was before the Derealization feeling and dizziness. Anyone know exactly what it could be? I don't feel like going back to the doctor just yet, going to wait until my antibiotic is done.

Thanks
-Carl.
