: : : :Mucus in the stools is a common thing for people with IBS -- I have it all the time -- one time I freaked out b/c I had large clumps of it in my stool like cottage cheese (sorry so nasty! :o) but I found out from others that this is a normal thing for a lot of us -- as long as there is no blood present in the mucus, you shouldn't have to worry about it. Hope this helps ease your mind a bit -- SMILE TK

: : I know it sounds awful, but TK is right...mucus is pretty "normal" for people with IBS. No one seems to know where it comes from or why. I can tell my dr. all day that I have mucus in my stools, they do all the tests and pretty much say, "well, you aren't missing any, so we don't know where it comes from". I've found that using a fiber regimen seems to decrease it (or it hides it, I'm not sure which!). TK, do you think we could make some big money making a horror movie out of IBS symptoms? "The Blob" has nothing on us! Just try to keep your sense of humor...good luck!

: Ya Angie -- I think we could call it "Tales from the Back Side" -- ha ha!!!!

Good One!!!
