After my last episode of IBS... my doctor prescribed paxil along with librax. I myself was afraid to take paxil. I ended up trying the librax first. It has a sedative affect and it has worked wonders :) I ocassionaly have spells with the IBS under severe stress. I usually just increase how much librax I take. (suppose to be 4 times a day I take it twice). I was just to scared to take paxil. Especially after that thing I saw on 20/20 about the side effects. Hope this might of helped in some way.

: After checking for thyroid, which was negative, the doc prescribed Paxil, for my IBS symptoms, and what she thinks is just anxiety. I don't know about all the vertigo though! All day long!!!! Anyway, most of what I have read about Paxil is negative, especially when IBS is involved. What do any of you think? The last thing I want is to make my IBS worse!!! Help!!! Thanks again! Sara.
