This is my first time on the board. I have had digestion problems for a long time. So... What is irritable bowel syndrome. I will have a short time of good bowel movement with no pressure or pain but it is always short lived. I will then have trouble with movements sometimes gooey sometimes loose with swelling in my abdomen to the right side of my belly button. After a good bowel movement the swelling or tenderness will go away till the time for another movement. I take Metamucil daily (ok'ed by my doctor). Can anyone relate or have a comment for me. Bob
