If I'm understanding you right, you think that the 2:1 Cal. Mag. ratio is not good for people with "D" type IBS? That seems to fit with my experience cause once a Dr. told me to use an antacid with Mag. in it and I had a 3 day non stop D attack. The need for Calcium would explain why IBS is worse for women during times of hormone changes, i.e. menstruation & menopause. Also, once my daughter had a series of blood tests done for a different problem and they said the only thing that showed up was that her Mag. levels were low. They didn't know this, but since she was a baby, she's always had severe problems with constipation. Do these ideas fit with your line of thinking? Thanks for the information. Ann S.
