: Michelle,

: If I'm understanding you right, you think that the 2:1 Cal. Mag. ratio is not good for people with "D" type IBS? That seems to fit with my experience cause once a Dr. told me to use an antacid with Mag. in it and I had a 3 day non stop D attack. The need for Calcium would explain why IBS is worse for women during times of hormone changes, i.e. menstruation & menopause. Also, once my daughter had a series of blood tests done for a different problem and they said the only thing that showed up was that her Mag. levels were low. They didn't know this, but since she was a baby, she's always had severe problems with constipation. Do these ideas fit with your line of thinking? Thanks for the information. Ann S.

Hi Ann,
No, I don't "think" anything really.. Those are not my words. Those are the words given to me by someone else and I copied their e-mail to me and posted it here. I didn't write that.....
I don't know what to think and I figured any type of info may help someone, anyone.. Although from my experience calcium really has made a huge difference for me. Just like when i say taking Tums, I don't mean for the discomfort. I mean for the calcium. Tums is loaded with it. It works over time. Someone else told me to do the calcium pills, which is fine but for now the Tums works and has high doses in it. I have had IBS for many many years. I have delt with the god awful stabbing, sweat breaking pains in my stomach for YEARS!!! I have just learned to accept it's just part of me and what I go through. I don't know what to think, all I know is as long as IBS wont kill me, i'll be just fine..
Michelle
