: : : Has anyone tried colostrum? I know it sounds totally gross, but I guess it is supposed to be a miracle. It comes in chewable tablets. I started taking it yesterday, but I was just wondering if anyone has any personal info. on it. There are some web sites about it, if anyone is interested. Sounds kinda promising. Good health to all, Janet L.
: : Isn't colustrum the stuff a woman produces in her breasts before breast milk kicks in? I would be concerned where they got it...women who have AIDS are not allowed to breast feed, because their screwed up antibodies go to the baby. And contrary to popular belief, babies born with AIDS do not necessarily "keep" AIDS. Anyway, don't want to be a party pooper, but, IBS is bad enough...but AIDS...I'm sure if that is the case, the AIDS virus would be killed during the processing. That is, if "colustrum" is what I think it is. Is there something else by this name?

: You are right about the AIDS scare in breastfeeding. The colostrum in these supplements come from cows (gross, huh?). These cows are raised for this purpose. The one I take is called Immune Tree Colostrum 6. I am not advertising this brand, the reason I give the name is to explain what the 6 stands for. It means that the colostrum was taken six hours after the cow gives birth. The first colostrum (closest to birth) has more antibodies in it. The Co. explains that the calf is taken care of first, before anything extra is taken from the mom. There is a great web site explaining it's use, and how it is processed. I don't have the exact address, just look up Immune Tree and colostrum will come up. Talk Soon, Janet
Gotcha...is it working for you?
