: Has anyone else developed IBS after removal of their gallbladder? I had a choleocystectomy almost a year ago, and was given mega antibiotics. Ever since then, I've had thin stools, sometimes diaorrheah and often (most days) sudden and urgent need to visit the toilet. Chocolate and fat definitely make it worse. I'm seeing a gastroenterologist in a few weeks, but I want to do my homework, and I'd be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this.
Hi Sue, I know that after my Gal Blader came out my Dr. told me I had IBS. At 1st they told me it was my Heart, than it was my Gal Blader and now it is IBS. I think it was IBS all along! I had every test in the book. In the hospital 5 times this year alone and finely I got a diagnose. IBS. I still don't feel right. I have to see her again on Oct. 30 Good Luck! CP
