: First, I want to thank all of you for your help and advice through this trying time. I was getting no answers from my doctors and finding this site saved me. Now on to my questions. I've been taking the metamucil for a little over a week and a half and it has stopped the diarhea. I've been playing with dosing amounts to find out what works for me. Still not sure on how often to take. I've taken it twice a day and three times a day and don't know which is best. Also, I've been taking a probiotic supplement with acidolphus for a week now and was wondering how long I should take this. If anyone knows, please let me know. Should I continue taking all until bottle is gone? I have also experimented with different fiber therapies (i.e. pills, powder). Are there any advantages to using the powder over the pills? The pills made me feel very bloated, more so than the powder, but my stool the next day was very firm. Is it stronger than the powder or just a coincidence?

: Anyway, any advice is welcome. Thanks again all for your assistance.

: Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I have found---use what works for you. I like the powder while my wife says it bloats her and she takes the capsules. She takes 2 with breakfast and 2 with supper( that's our evening meal). She eats more fruit than I do but I eat more veggies than she does. We both eat yogurt and take extra acidophilus capsules --DAILY. I think its just health to do. There is a constant WARFARE going on in our intestines---I want the Good Guys to WIN.
God Bless----Harry
