Hi Claire,
You really have to make a concerted effort to get enough of the right kind of mostly water soluble fiber on a daily basis these days ---everything is so processed and just lacks the bulk that cleans out your colon. For our colons to function properly it has to be filled -- normal. It took hundreds if not thousands of years for our colons to develop to the way it suppose to process food. Just forty years ago fast food was almost nonexitent.Now it is everywhere.Next to colds--- digestive problems are the biggest cause of job absences.It has been estimated that most people get about a third of the fiber they need.

By taking a fiber suppleent---then you know you getting the right stuff---Not just 3 or 4 days a week but every day.It is just a potential problem removed from your life.Lack of fiber can cause hemorrhoids, colitis, divericulis, IBS and the list goes ON to much worse.
I think taking a fiber supplement is one of the simplist and healthy things you can do for yourself---Your GI tract is working all the time.
It's relatively cheap and convient. I like psyllium seed husk and you can get it in a powder or capsule form.

You know Claire in my entire life I have never known a single person that eats right all the time!!! Just keep a diary for a month of everything you eat and drink---see how you make out.Good Luck!!!
