: : Can someone help me please??? I have osteoporosis (diagnosed)and am not absorbing my calcium chewables. They have 700 mg of calcium carbonate, calcium citrate, and magnesium with Vitamin D in each chewable wafer. I chew 2 a day at different times. Thats 1,400 total miligrams of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D a day. But since I have irritable bowel, my stomach and intestines are not absorbing properly. Is there another way to get more Calcium in my body other than the veggies, and other foods I eat daily????? When I take calcium now, I get constant kidney and Urinary trac infections....my doc told me it was because the calcium was building up in my body in one place...and not absorbing correctly. Can anyone relate to this? thanks in advance for your response.
: Have you tried a different brand of calcium? I also have osteoporosis and take Schif's gel calcium with Vit.D. Sometimes too much magnesium can give you diarrhea. Also try eating yogurt every day. I have not heard of Urinary tract infections caused by calcium.

Where can I purchase the Schif's gel calcium? Is this an oral liquid? My doctor told me when calcium is ingested and not absorbed it deposits in the organs like the kidneys, and liver, and thus, when the kidneys are overburdened like that, they dont work properly, then the urinary trac gets too much bacteria and waste from the kidneys not filtering properly. And stones can accumulate in the kidneys/bladder...thanks for the product, please reply soon...
