I had strep throat for about six months, and they finally took my tonsils out. I was on antibiotics for the entire time... some very strong ones. I started off having "muscle spasms" under my rib cage on the left hand side, especially when I laid down to go to sleep. I went to the doctor and he said it was probably IBS. I had the spasms for about two months, and now I am having a pinching pain in that same place, similiar to the one mentioned elsewhere on this board. The funny thing is, as soon as the pain started, the spasms went away. No bowel problems to speak of, except very gassy sometimes. I occasionally get the pinching pain a little lower on the right too. There is no rhyme or reason to it.So: Can this be caused by long term antibiotics? Did any of you have the spasms go away like that? Should I insist that they do a colonoscopy? Also, sometimes, when I move the wrong way, like shifting sideways, it hurts, almost like my ribs are hurting it. ANybody else? By the way, you are all very supportive in your responses and thanks in advance for your response.
