Dawne are you sure that it is kidney pain? i recently went to the doctor for similar pain, my mid back would ache every night after about an hour while I was trying to sleep. they originally thought that it may be a kidney infection so they put me on antibiotics and the pain did not go away. So they decide it was back trouble an ordered an MRI and found nothing, after about three months trying to live this way, i found a good chiropractor that discovered i had a rib displaced, if you are active, this may be the same for you! it is worth checking.........Good luck!.....: Hi there -- I recently went to the doctor with awful back pains and extreme tenderness when I tried to lie down to sleep.
