Dull Pain in Kidney

Hi,
Recently I've been experiencing a dull pain in my right kidney. It's not terribly painful..a nd comes in throbes.
It's basically just a dull pain. It sometimes seems to worsen when I need to urinate, especially if I wait for a long time.
Then apon urinating, it subsides for a while. Though the need to urinate seems to bring the pain on more, it can pulse
with dull pain any time. Any ideas as to what this may be?
