We've never had cats. However, we do own dogs and back in 1993 when my daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia we were taking care of two hamsters as part of a school project. The hamsters bite my daughter when she was feeding her and two days later they were both dead, having lost all of their hair in less than one day. To all of us this was a shocking and strange experience, but did not conect it with her Leukemia until several months ago when reading a novel by John Grisham in a case against several companies causing Leukemia in the comunity he mentioned the fact that rodents too have Leukemia and that the first link was thought to be them.I haven't read anything about this but I did read an article published a few months ago in a local newspaper that relates childhoo Leukemia with the use of pet products such as flea powder and flea collars, specifically of a certain brand. More research is to be conducted but the fact that we are exposed to unscrupolous manufacturers is real.
