: Since late April I suffered from what was diagnosed as bronchitis. I was able to continue working and was treated with cough suppressants.
: About four weeks ago the coughing increased considerably and I developed a fever. This was treated with antibiotics and a diagnosis of probable respiratory infection was given. I almost got well but then a relapse occured. The doctor tried the same antibiotic again, Zithromax. This time it didn't seem to help at all.
: After a week he switched to a broad spectrum antibiotic Levaquin. This seemed to alleviate some symptoms. However after nearly 10 days on the Levaquin I still suffer from bouts of fatigue and still have temperatures that range from normal to 99.4. If I push myself too hard in doing work around the house I end up back in bed with an elevated temperature.
: I'd appreciate any help I can get on this
Chuck, I suffer from re-current chest infections.
A good thing to do is boil a pan of water, sit over it with a towel over your head for about 5 mintues. This loosens up the flem, and aids the antibiotics. Also, deep breathing before bed/and when waking. Lots of water, tea etc. Good luck.
