Nicole: great post there from the healthline website. i was just diagnosed with respiratory infection and am being treated with Biaxin. This info will be helpful in case I don't repond to the treatment and have to question the doctor on the next course of action. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts on ways to relive the excruciating pain I am experiencing b/c of the sinus infection I alos have. I cannot get my sinues to drain and it's starting to fell like I am walking around with a migraine headache for days on end. Any thoughts? Thanks.

: Dear Chuck,

: Hello. I am far from being a doctor, but I was just doing some research on preventing respiratory infections so I can be prepared for the cold/flu season. I was reading that a lot of respiratory infections are viral and do not respond to antibiotic treatment. Pneumonia may also be a possibility. Here is the website where I found this information: http://www.healthline.com/articles/ap940007/htm. You may want to print this page and show it to your doctor. Good luck with this annoying problem. I used to get respiratory infections that lasted 3 months when untreated so I know how awful they are. They seemed to be worse when I was stressed and not getting enough sleep. These weaken your immune system and make it very difficult to fight illness. So take care of yourself and take it easy. I hope this helps, even if you are better by now, you will have the information in case it happens again.

: Nicole
