I need help in understanding how to help my Mom. She was diagnosed with emphezema over 4 years ago. She has always been a strong and independent woman and now has to depend on my sister and I for most things. She's applying for disability this summer and will have to stop working.
My problem is, I don't know how far to go in helping without making her more dependent on me than she needs to be. I know patients are at risk of letting themselves go without putting up a fight and I'm afraid of that happening to her. It makes me sad to see her like this and I don't now what to do. I've become the person in charge and I don't like it.
